Queen for the day in Amsterdam
Every other year, I go to Amsterdam with my family for Queen’s Day, on or around 30th April. Why?
Well, not only do we have friends that live there and we love to visit them, but also Queen’s Day is basically a giant flea-market which happens all over The Netherlands.
Everyone, children and adults, come out onto the streets and sell off all their stuff - which happens to be some of the coolest stuff you are ever likely to see.
Some of my fantastic finds this year were an old Dutch coffee tin, a metal bottle carrier, a beautiful floral oil painting and some really great cloth bread bags from an old Dutch bakery.
Vintage and retro clothes, fabric and bric-a-brac abound at every turn and I have always come home full of inspiration. I LOVE Amsterdam!
