Death of the ‘It’ bag?

I like to think that I have my finger on the pulse of fashion and was therefore heartened to read the other day that the “It” bag is officially on a downward spiral. I have never understood why perfectly rational women would spend a month’s salary on a bag that is so ‘of the moment’, particularly when fashion magazines are constantly telling us to buy for the long term.  I would be happy to spend a silly amount of money on a quality, designer bag if I wasn’t worried about making some horrendous fashion faux pas when my lilac colourway Birkin Fashion bag plummeted out of fashion the week after I had taken out a mortgage on it!

The trend to go green seems to be at work here, and women seem to be developing more of a conscience about how their prized fashion items are produced, and the environmental and ethical issues involved.  I am all for this, of course, with the emphasis at CeeCeeBags being on recycling and handcrafting and producing fantastic items that are unique to the owner.  And I can assure you that the only involvement of child labour on the production line is the odd bit of straight stitching my 8 year old daughter volunteers!
