Having Sew Much Fun

A few years ago, with my sparkly, new sewing machine in hand (weighing a ton!), I travelled to a remote part of London known as Mornington Crescent, to meet Roz Davies.  She runs Sew Much Fun, which offers courses in sewing and handicraft for the discerning hobbyist.  Very much the novice in all things handy, I spent the day with Roz and by the end of that day had made my very first bag.  The stitching was a bit wobbly, the seams untidy but by golly it was a bag - in fact my daughter still uses it!

I have very fond memories of spending the day with Roz, who was a real inspiration, with the patience of a saint.  By the end of the day, I had a renewed confidence in my abilities and a great feeling of self satisfaction that I was potentially capable of pursuing a dream to make bags and build a business doing so.

Roz still runs courses to suit all abilities and ages and I would recommend her to anyone wanting to take that first step, or develop new skills.  Sew Much Fun is at 46 Chalcot Road, London NW1 8LS.  Telephone 020 7722 9889. Visit the Sew Much Fun website
